Dig-Quad Pixel Controller

In 2023, we started using a Dig-Quad controller for the front porch area of the house. This accepts 4 universes of input and has 4 outputs, plus 3 additional outputs that can be used for power injection. It can operate wirelessly, but we opted for the additional ethernet module so we could hard-wire the controller into our router.

We bought the controller from Dr. Zzs for about US$50. https://www.drzzs.com/shop/digquad/. The design is open source, but buying the pre-assembled version is far easier than making your own and has a few additional benefits.

The controller took a little while to figure out and we didn’t find much online documentation for how to actually configure it, but the user interface is intuitive enough. It has a robust testing capability, as well, which is very useful when setting things up.

We were struggling to understand why we had a flickering issue with one of our pine trees running off of this controller. We have ultimately given up on troubleshooting that issue and are running the pine trees off of an ESPixelStick Pixel Controller instead. As of 2024, the Dig-Quad has 3 universes running off of it.
