Happy 2024! We have a brand new show this year for the first time in almost 5 years! We also made a few minor behind-the-scenes changes related to controllers and the Interactive Light Display. This was also the first year that our kids (6 and 3.5) were fairly involved in setting things up and it was awesome sharing this project more with them. New Stuff for 2024
Moving Universe 8 Control from the Attic to the Front Porch
With the success of the new Dig-Quad Pixel Controller 4-universe wired controller mounted under the eaves of the front porch, we decided to use it for one more universe to further improve our power injection situation. Moving universe 8 (the lights above the front porch) to be controlled from this controller drastically reduces the amount of wiring we need and is better in every way.
Music
This year’s show is 9 minutes and 10 seconds long and runs every 10 minutes. When the show is not running, we have some interlude lighting, a brief voice over from Philip, some background music, and a countdown timer running on the pixel screen.
